Pretty Darn Good! September 5, 2010 ChrowX I don't honestly know all that much about unicycles but this one is pretty comfortable and easy to put together. I'm still learning how to ride it, after having underestimated how difficult it would be to learn, but it's a rewarding process.
There were no extra parts and everything popped together with ease. The only problem with it is that the seat doesn't stay in place and tends to rotate a little. So you'll be sitting on it, rocking for a while and then realize that it's turned left or right so you kind of have to jam it back into place. Luckily, it stays at the same height you set it at.
Great unicycle. Worth every penny. July 24, 2010 Charles Metz (Elgin, IL) I received my unicycle on Thursday night and by Friday night my son and I were already riding about 1/2 a block on it. I bought this for both of us but we are going to order another one today. We have already gotten our money's worth and it is a lot of fun to learn. I am 43 (165 lbs.) and my son is 13 (120 lbs.) and the 20" unicycle is a great fit for both of us. Everyone told us we would get hurt but so far it has been one of the safer things we have tried. You just step off and try it again. After slamming it and dropping it on the road a couple of hundred times we have not damaged a thing. The seat protectors are a big plus. The only thing I would have liked is a quick release seat post. Overall I would rate this unicycle an A++. It is a lot of fun and a great workout.
Great unicycle June 20, 2010 J. Knowlton (Provo, Utah) I bought this unicycle for my son's 12th birthday. It was easy to assemble even without instructions, but it was a bit too tall for my short son. My husband just sawed off a couple of inches and now it is perfect. My son had never ridden on a unicycle but learned in 3 days. He loves the handle on the front of the seat and uses it to get up on the unicycle without any support. His only complaint would be that it hurts his uknowwhat to sit on the seat. After having it only a couple of weeks, he will be riding it on stage as an Oomph Loompa in our community production of Willy Wonka. I give it 5 stars for keeping my son outside and happy all summer and for being such a great price. I bought this unicycle at Amazon with free shipping. I even used some of my swag bucks ([...]) so it was even cheaper.
solid product June 16, 2010 North Sunny This is not a heavy-duty unicycle. The frame and bearings are pretty strong, but the tire is a little weak, even though for my weight (about 150 lb) it is more than enough. If you plan to do a lot of jumping, you will need wider tires. The build quality is good. Assembly is easy. It took me about 7 minutes to put it together. This was without somebody else to hold the pieces while I tightened the screws. Had I had help from someone else, I would have done it in less than 4 minutes. Of course some tools are needed for the assembly -- some wrenches and a screw driver are good enough. There is no need for instructions. And indeed there isn't one.
Once assembled, it's ready to go. For teenagers, learning how to ride the unicycle may be easy. I am a half a century old, therefore, I had a hard time learning how to ride this thing. I don't want to rush, so I plan to build training wheels and mount them to the unicycle. I have a very good design but yet to find the time to build it. Once that is done, I will be busy practicing it.
In all, I highly recommend it. The price is right, and the quality is good.
Avenir Deluxe Unicycle May 25, 2010 A. Cohan 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was the first unicycle I have ever bought and ridden. Let me say, this is great. The unicycle was easy and fun to ride. I mastered riding in less than a day. I started riding at about 1 am and went to sleep, woke up, immediately started riding again, and got the hang of it. The price for what you get is amazing. The quality of the unicycle is great and everything is great. It also has a small grabbing place that was not mentioned or shown in the picture on the seat level. The only bad thing is that you have to assembly the unicycle yourself and it does not come with instructions. But it was very easy to put it together. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. GO AVENIR!
