Amazon.com Product Description The Giro Indicator's confident style and superior ventilation are coupled with a modern design that complements every type of rider. As a result, the Indicator helmet is the perfect choice for riding downtown, up a technical climb, and everything in between. The helmet is built using Giro's in-mold construction, which fuses the helmet's outershell with the impact-absorbing EPS liner. Not only does this reinforce both layers, but the "exoskeleton" also allows Giro to engineer helmets that are lighter, more durable, and better ventilated. The helmet also includes 20 built-in vents, which thrust cool, fresh air over and around the rider's head while forcing heat and stale air out. And riders will love the helmet's snap-fit visor, which shields your eyes on bright, sunny days. The Indicator bike helmet is carefully sculpted and size-specific, with an easy-to-adjust Acu Dial fit system. The helmet--which adjusts between 21.25 and 24 inches--weighs only 0.62 pounds and complies with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety standards for bicycle helmets. About Giro Working late nights in his garage, designer/bike racer Jim Gentes created the first lightweight adult cycling helmet in 1985. Friends at NASA helped tune the final helmet shape and vent placement, and the result was the Giro Prolight, a sleek, stylish helmet that offered a superior fit while still meeting the industry's toughest safety standards. In addition, the helmet weighed half as much as traditional helmets, making it extremely comfortable. In the years since, Giro has advanced its helmets, which are extremely popular among progressive, performance-oriented riders on dirt, pavement, and snow. Giro helmets are now worn by millions of riders, cyclists, skiers, and snowboarders around the world. Giro is based in Scotts Valley, California.

Good basic helmet August 24, 2010 Rexington One thing I don't like is how the straps make a twist as they enter the adjustable connector on each side -- this causes the straps not to lie flat against my face (I have a pretty big head), which is slightly annoying.
Having said that, I purchased this helmet as a basic helmet, and it does that well. It's easy to adjust and has decent airflow. It's lightweight enough that I don't really notice it when I'm riding and is good for all-around road and off-road use.
Happy with the purchase August 23, 2010 ed Nice helmet for the price. The local sports store had this helmet but not in the color I wanted (want it to match my bike). Found it on here for cheaper. Fits well and is easy to adjust. Put the little blue foam pads it comes with inside for a more comfy/snug fit. My only gripe is the chin strap doesn't sit flush against the ears. It's a little annoying at first but you'll forget about it sooner or later.
Comfortable bike helmet August 23, 2010 Thomas Petersen (Fond du Lac Wisconsin) I ordered the Giro Indicator Sport Bike Helmet using a gift certificate from my family. It seems more light and comfortable than the Trek helmet I had been using. Only time will tell if it will hold up as well.
Indicator saved my brain!!!! August 21, 2010 hope Four days ago, riding along a paved bike path, I dumped my bike, flew back and hit the pavement with the back of my Giro Indicator. I was knocked out for four minutes. After an ambulance ride to the hospital, xrays and a CT Scan of my head, the only thing that was roughed up was my helmet that I had purchased almost a year ago. It exhibited only hair-line cracks; without it, I would be severely impaired or dead! Just purchased the Giro Rift... Wear those helmets!!!!!
Great helmet. August 12, 2010 S. Gould (Cape Cod, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Finally decided to buy a helmet - after fifty years of bike riding I have become so paranoid of idiots in big SUVs yacking on the their cell phones that I had pretty much stopped riding. This helmet was priced right and was well reviewed except for a couple of people who didn't like the straps. I adjusted the straps a couple of times and it is now quite comfortable. Good value, fast shipping, and now if I get hit I'll be in wheel chair instead of a coffin.
